Ranua Wildlife Park – Activities for animals
In a small town of Ranua you can find the children´s favourite destination, Ranua Wildlife Park. Ranua is only 80 kilometres´ drive away from Rovaniemi and 160 kilometers from Oulu so it´s easy to reach from every direction. The wildlife park inhabits over 50 arctic animal species and 200 individual animals. Their fencings are spacious and very nature-like since they´re located in the midst of northern wide forests. Ranua Zoo´s zoo-keepers are very professional and beside the park´s own animals, they take care of lost and hurt animals.
The park is home for several lovely animals and the rarest of them is probably a polar bear. Did you know that Ranua Zoo is the only place in Finland where you can see them? In the park you will also have a possibility to see wolves, otters, bears, owls, wild boars, wolverines, and many, many more! There´s also a huge playground where children get to jump and run around.
Ranua Wildlife Park is open every day of the year. If you´re planning a longer visit, you should definitely consider their accommodation options nearby: Arctic Fox Igloos on the shores of beautiful Lake Ranuanjärvi, Holiday Village Gulo Gulo (by the way, Gulo gulo means wolverine in latin), and RanuaZoo and Lake Ranuanjärvi camping areas. In the wildlife park main building delicious meals are served, whether you´re in mood for a snack, lunch buffet or 3-course dinner.
